Chic and edgy.  Color palettes that run from neutrals to vibrant hues. Fabrics of varied textures. Looks that fuse both functionality and high style. Cuts that flatter the feminine figure.  Sophisticated, sleek with sexiness just enough to command attention.

Those are the statements made loud and clear by the country’s top designers featured in this year’s Philippine Fashion Week. The premier and largest fashion event in the country also marked its 21st anniversary this year. Staged every two years by Runway Productions, it is the brainchild of siblings and executive producers Audie and Joey Espino.

Here, take a sneak peek of the 2017 holiday looks.

JEROME SALAYA ANG

His holiday collection is showcased in Glitch which he described as modern and sleek but with Victorian elements primarily in the silhouettes and draping. To achieve his statement, Jerome used foil leather metallic jerseys, sequined fabrics and leatherettes.

AMIR SALI

Genesis: In the Beginning inspired Amir’s holiday collection. He preferred basic silhouettes for greater simplicity and functionality. His colors moved from nude tones to the vibrancy of gold, red and green. Crystals and colored stones endowed his pieces with a unique brilliance; he also used stripes to break the monotony of flowers and vines.
