Marketplace by Rustan’s featured the world’s finest wines. A three-day wine fair was presented by Marektplace by Rustan’s at the Shangri-La Plaza Grand Atrium recently.
The wine fair featured choice wine selections from premium wine-growing regions around the globe. Twelve highly-respected winemakers coming from Australia, France, Spain, and Argentina brought their best bottles to the fair and shared their expertise on understanding the different kinds of wines and vineyards in the world, understanding how wine is made, the landscape of the wine industry in various wine appellations, and so much more.
Among the prominent guests were: Laurent Barrier from Château Pey Mallet in France who spoke on Understanding Bordeaux Wine Region, while Christopher Buckland-Smith from Wines Overland talked about Argentina and Chile: A Tale of Conquistadores, Oceans, and Mountains.

Varietals of Eastern Australian Wines was the topic of Anthony Murphy from the Trentham winery in Australia; Laurent Mery from Château Lamothe-Bergero in France spoke onThe Rise of Wine Tourism, while Pablo Aranda Hynes from Grupo Penaflor in Argentina presented to the audience the Terroirs of Mendoza, Argentina. Elena Hernandez from the Tempore winery in Spain had an interesting talk on Spanish Diversity in Culture and Traditions from North to South; then Mark Davidson from the Tamburlaine winery in Australia taught guests about Organic Wines and How to Make Them.
Also joining the roster of sommeliers are Graham Cranswick Smith from the Cranswick winery, Sam Mete from the Robert Oatley Vineyards, and Michael Rogers from Wines Overland.
During the World of Wine fair, Marketplace by Rustan’s specially curated a wine list featuring quality choices from the rarest bottles in the world to vintage wines available at the best value. Choice wines with only a few bottles left in the market such as the 2010 ChâteauLeoville-Las Cases Saint Julien 2 Cru Classe, the 1994 ChâteauLeoville-Las Cases Saint Julien 2 Cru Classe, the 2003 ChâteauNeninPomerol, the 2004 Clos du Marquis Saint Julien, and the 2008 Clos du Marquis Saint Julien were sold exclusively during the event.
